Home of the ‘Larks’ is Larkfield Leisure Centre in New Hythe Lane, Larkfield, Kent

We pride ourselves in being the friendliest athletics club in Kent, we always welcome new members of any ability; from complete beginners (see our Larkrun for beginners page) to seasoned athletes.  Our club members pound the pavements, venture off road and all around the world, whether in competitions or just for fun!

The Triathletes ‘Tri Larks’ are just as accommodating, whether you want to train for your first triathlon or if you are training for Iron Man or even trying to qualify for your Age Group, you are sure to see a friendly face. (see our Trilarks Triathlon page)

Our main base is Larkfield Leisure centre, and this is where the runners meet twice a week for training. The Triathletes meet for swimming and cycle rides here too. See training for our other training venues and details of these.

You are welcome to come along and join in any training runs or contact us for further information about the club. If you would like to join the club, please download and complete our Larkfield AC Membership Form.

Three people who deserve a special mention here are Debbie McNamara (nee Ransom), Neil Hunt and Derek Way. Debbie and Neil have both been Chair and Secretary, Derek has had a go at nearly everything else. All three no longer run with the club but remain club members, without them there would be no club now.

Monday

During the late Spring and Summer months club members can attend a coached Open water swim session at Leybourne lakes, Larkfield.

Wednesdays

A coached Winter (from October until April) training programme to increase speed endurance, power output, technique, aerobic capacity and core strength. It’s also a whole lot of fun! The club has some spare turbo trainers so if you haven’t got one and want to give it a go just get in touch. This session usually costs around £2 to cover the price of hall hire.

Thursdays

There is a structured programme that is coached weekly throughout the year. It aims at building endurance and technique throughout the Winter, working towards race pace for the Triathlon season. This session costs members £5.

Sundays

This is a lead group ride by a qualified coach. It runs regularly in the Spring Summer months. We try to organise a short and steady Improvers ride as well as a faster paced group. All details will be posted on Facebook before the ride as times/ distances/ weather can vary! Please see our link for Safety riding in Groups before attending one of these rides or get in touch with our Triathlon coach Spencer Lee here.
